This second floor bathroom started off as a small alcove in an 1899 center hall colonial. Plumbing had to be run through and hidden in the downstairs hallway. The support beams between the first and second floors also had to be reinforced in order to withhold the weight of the Japanese style soaking tub. In addition the the plumbing, all wiring was engineered as well.

This was an addition/woodshed that was stripped to the 2x4s and finished into a split-level apartment. All plumbing and electrical were reengineered and the entire space was insulated. The loft was designed and built with a custom, retractable pull-down ladder. The original staircase was rehabbed and a custom copper and steel wire railing installed.

On the first floor, custom cabinetry was designed and built along with butcher block counter tops. On the second floor, the entire full bath was gutted and rebuilt with installed tiles and fixtures. All existing original wooden windows were rehabbed including glazing and sash weights. Additionally, all original hardwood floors throughout the entire space were restored and refinished.

This in-progress Fairfield home rehab/restoration started with gutting the entire craft style house. The floor plan was redesigned and all wiring and plumbing was reengineered. The entire home was reinsulated and all original windows rehabbed.

The ceiling was opened up to create a loft space to which a staircase was built. All floors have been refinished and the pictured bathroom was completed with slate shower stall and custom concrete sink.
